STORE POLICY
At OAKNSMITH, every piece is made with care in Ohio. Many of our products are handmade, made to order, or produced in small batches using wood and other natural materials. Because of that, slight variations in grain, color, and character are normal and part of what makes each piece unique.
PROCESSING TIMES
Most orders are made to order.
- Standard processing time is typically 3-7 business days depending on the item.
- Larger vendor display pieces or customized orders may require additional time.
- The estimated processing time shown on each product page is the most accurate timeline for that item.
- If there is any meaningful delay, we will contact you using the email provided with
your order.
SHIPPING
- We currently ship from Ohio, USA.
- Shipping times shown at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- Once an order has been handed off to the carrier, transit delays caused by the
shipping carrier are outside our control.
- Buyers are responsible for entering the correct shipping address at checkout.
- If a package is returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the
customer, the customer is responsible for any reshipment costs.
- For larger display fixtures or multi-box shipments, packages may arrive separately.
DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE, OR INCORRECT ORDERS
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, contact us
within 5 days of delivery.
Please include:
- your order number
- a brief description of the issue
- clear photos of the item
- clear photos of the packaging and shipping label
If the issue is verified, we will make it right by providing, at our discretion, a
replacement, repair, store credit, or refund.
CANCELLATIONS
We accept order cancellation requests within 48 hours of purchase as long as production
has not materially begun.
If work has already started, a cancellation request may be denied or may be subject to a
partial cancellation fee to cover labor and material already committed.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Because many of our products are handmade, made to order, personalized, or produced in
limited quantities, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change-of-mind purchases
unless otherwise stated on the product page.
We also do not accept returns or exchanges on:
- personalized or custom items
- items altered or finished at the customers request
- used items
- items damaged after delivery due to misuse, improper care, or normal wear
If you are unsure about sizing, dimensions, finish, compatibility, or use before
ordering, please contact us and we will help clarify before purchase.
NON-RETURNABLE SITUATIONS
Returns, refunds, or replacements will not be issued for:
- natural variation in wood grain, color, knots, or character
- minor variations inherent to handmade work
- customer remorse after delivery
- failure to read dimensions, descriptions, or processing times listed before purchase
- delays caused by carriers, weather, customs, or other events outside our control
- damage caused by improper assembly, improper storage, modification, or misuse after
delivery
CUSTOM AND PERSONALIZED ORDERS
Custom and personalized work is final sale.
Customers are responsible for reviewing all custom details, measurements, spelling,
artwork, and personalization information before submission. OAKNSMITH is not responsible for errors provided by the customer.
For engraved or logo-based work, the customer confirms they have the right to use any
artwork, logo, or submitted design.
LARGE DISPLAY FIXTURES AND ASSEMBLY
Some OAKNSMITH products are modular, flat-pack, or multi-piece display fixtures intended for vendor booths, retail spaces, and events.
Please note:
- customers are responsible for reviewing product dimensions before ordering
- customers are responsible for ensuring the product will fit their intended space,
vehicle, or setup
- normal cosmetic variation from handcrafted wood construction is not considered a
defect
CARE AND PRODUCT USE
Wood is a natural material and should be handled accordingly.
- Keep products dry unless the product description specifically states otherwise.
- Do not leave wood items exposed to standing water, prolonged moisture, or extreme
temperatures.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
For international orders, buyers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes,
VAT, brokerage fees, or other destination-country charges.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
LIMITATION ON ADDRESS CHANGES
If you need to update your shipping address, contact us as quickly as possible. We
cannot guarantee address changes after an order is placed, especially once production or
fulfillment has started.
